Somehow, through the internet, you have come to my page :)
This blog is a gift. A gift that, if I should leave, I would be happy to leave you.
I have many reasons for starting this blog, but here are a few:
1. My best friend. I won’t mention her name, I’ve met her once, but she is the reason that I am here today. We met through a promo group on tumblr after not seeing each other for ten years when I moved to America, and we started talking when I posted something about depression on the page, and then she messaged me asking if I was okay. I learnt over the next year and a half that she had lost all of her grandparents, her sister was suicidal, her parents had gotten divorced and she was diagnosed with a cancer (which she has beaten again and again). The thing that shocked me, however, was that she was still smiling, and that she was able to carry all of her burdens as well as mine, and for that I am thankful to a girl thousands of miles away, barely remembers me and is still a better friend than anyone I’ve ever met.
2. My Physics teacher. This sounds like an odd one, but he is my inspiration and motivation to keep going. Before he was a teacher, and before I knew him, he worked as a pyschiatrist in the Paediatric Ward of the local hospital, and worked with kids who were terminally ill. These sort of people usually only last a few weeks in their position, and have the highest suicidal rate of any job, but my teacher stayed on for six months. Six months going from one funeral to the next, and six months of working with children who knew that they may not wake up the next day. To you, Sir, I thank you for being the kindest, selfless person I have ever met.
3. You. Every single one of you reading this, if you’ve gotten this far :) You are beautiful, funny, smart, kind, selfless, gorgeous, caring, considerate, witty, delightful, a joy, fantastic, and you should be proud of it. There is no one alive that is more you than you, to quote Dr Suess, and whether you need one or one hundred people to remind you of that, you are.
